This ski tour does not accommodate cross-country skiers and requires specialized Alpine ski equipment/ Telemark equipment with the use of skins.  You can also use Snowboards/Snowshoes.  This trip often includes high alpine and glacier travel. 

This one-day ski tour is an excellent introduction to ski mountaineering.  You can expect to travel anywhere from 2-6 miles in distance (4-10km) and gain an elevation of 1000-3000ft. (300-900m).  Our tours originate in the environs of Banff National Park and Kananaskis Country, A wilderness area of approximately 10,000sq.km.  Learn route finding, avalanche awareness, snow & hazard evaluation. Prior to departure, your guide will review your equipment and advise you on the location of the tour.  This will be determined according to current snow and weather conditions.  On arrival at the trailhead, you will receive instruction on the use of avalanche transceivers and participate in an exercise demonstrating their capability.

YOU BRING: Skis, Snowboard, Poles, Skins, Boots, Alpine Touring or Telemark. Ski Jacket & Pants, Gloves, Mitts, Toque, Ski Hat, Sun Glasses, Warm Sweater
